The Important Factor of Hardware Parts Processing


The material of the tool, the workpiece material, the shape of the tool, the life of the tool and the coolant used are the major factors affecting the processing of hardware parts. What we are more concerned about is the quality of the finished products processed.

Non-standard hardware parts processing because of the special shape and processing technology requirements, therefore, the requirements for quality are relatively high. Therefore, we must be aware of the various influencing factors in our processing workpiece.

(1) Tool material. The allowable high cutting speed varies with the tool material. High-temperature cutting speed of high-speed steel tool is less than 50m/min, carbide tool is more than 100m/min, and ceramic tool is more than 1000m/min.

(2) Workpiece materials. The hardness of workpiece material will affect the cutting speed of tool. The cutting speed should be reduced when the same tool is used to process hard material, while the cutting speed can be increased when the same tool is used to process soft material.

(3) Tool life. The cutting speed should be lower if the tool life is longer. On the contrary, higher cutting speed can be adopted.

(4) Machining depth and feed of non-standard hardware parts. Cutting depth and feed amount are large, cutting resistance is also large, cutting heat will increase, so cutting speed should be reduced.

(5) Tool shape. The shape, angle and sharpness of the cutting tool will affect the selection of cutting speed.

(6) Coolant use. Non-standard hardware parts processing machine tools with good rigidity and high accuracy can improve cutting speed; conversely, cutting speed needs to be reduced.
